I have practiced dentistry for more than 40 years and can honestly say I love my profession now as much as when I started.
I love being able to improve people’s lives; I love bringing together science, medicine, and creativity to create happy and healthy smiles; and I love guiding people through the maze of their dental needs — explaining treatment options, and partnering with them to achieve a healthy smile!
In the years I have been seeing patients, I have met many wonderful people. I appreciate the diversity of our community and the different experiences and stories patients bring to our office. Many of my patients have become my friends, and I enjoy seeing their families grow and change over the years. I am honored by their trust in me and in our team.
My goal as a dentist is to help each patient achieve the healthiest, most attractive smile, and to ensure everyone keeps their smile healthy and strong!
I attended Loma Linda University, where I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Dentistry has undergone many changes in the years since I finished dental school. The advances in techniques and technology, as well as new materials and approaches to patient care, have revolutionized the field.
Learning and staying on top of the developments in dentistry is both fascinating and necessary. Through participation in study clubs, taking a wide range of continuing education courses, and reading dental journals and publications, I stay current on the latest options.
I am an active member of the:
- American Dental Association
- California Dental Association
- San Joaquin Dental Society
I volunteer my professional services at St. Raphael’s Dental Clinic and through the local dental society, and I have spent many years on the Lodi Academy board.
Beyond the Practice
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and then lived in Southern California before settling in the Lodi area with my family. My wife Kathi is a nurse. My three sons are also in the medical field: Dr. Jeff is an oral surgeon in Lodi, Erik is an anesthesiologist, and Ryan is a dentist like me.
Outside of work, I love to be with my grandkids and family. I also like traveling and enjoy playing a little golf from time to time, too.
